Gorillaz have shared the full details of their upcoming live stream performances.

In addition to the announcement of Gorillaz forthcoming Song Machine album last week, the digital outfit also revealed ‘Song Machine Live’, which will blend visuals with a live performance from the group.

Coming on the 12th and 13th December, Song Machine Live will mark the band’s first live performance since 2018, and is set to broadcast live around the world with three shows across three time zones. The band members from the Damon Albarn-fronted virtual project, Noodle, Murdoc Niccals, Russel and 2D, will perform alongside Albarn, plus a handful of collaborators, against a backdrop of visuals from Jamie Hewlett.

Gorillaz first announced Song Machine, earlier this year, with the first instalment, ‘Momentary Bliss’, featuring Northampton-born rapper slowthai and Slaves in February. Shortly after, they shared more music with Malian musician, Fatoumata Diawara, Octavian, and ScHoolboy Q.

The new album, ‘Song Machine: Season One – Strange Timez’ will be released on 23rd October, and encompasses 17 tracks in all, including additional features from the likes of Beck, Elton John, Kano and St Vincent. You can watch the video for the Robert Smith-featuring title track here.
