Folamour shares new single, ‘Pressure Makes Diamonds’, via All Night Long: Listen

Folamour will release his first single of 2024, ‘Pressure Makes Diamonds’, later this week via French label All Night Long. Have an exclusive first listen to the track below.

It’s been a decade since Folamour burst onto the house scene with his emotion-drenched debut EP, ‘Deeply Rooted Vibes’, and things have been pretty full throttle for the Frenchman ever since. His latest single – and first in a series of celebratory 10th anniversary releases – offers a moment of contemplation, exploring the challenges and expectations that the FHUO Records boss faced in his early career.

Beaming house grooves, disco textures and sentimental chords are interspersed with pitched-down vocals from the producer himself, as he forays back to his hometown of Lyon where it all began.

Speaking to DJ Mag about the single, Folamour shared: “There was a lot of conflicts, we moved a lot during my childhood, and I had to start fresh every time. So I spent a lot of time listening to music, reading books and overall, trying to escape the pressure I experienced… ‘Pressure Makes Diamonds’ is about all the generations struggling to find their place in the nowadays world.”

“As part of my Decade Together Tour, it seemed obvious to me to organise something exceptional and magical in Lyon, the city that saw me grow as an artist and above all, the city that gave me supported when I was not yet the artist I am today and allowed me to accomplish what I dreamed of accomplishing,” Folamour added on the event. “I will never forget what we created and what we share, so let’s have a huge party together and come together to dance all day long.”

‘Pressure Makes Diamonds’ is the latest in a string of singles on burgeoning French label, All Night Long, focused around cities that are meaningful to the producers behind them. The imprint – founded by digital music agency Kidding Aside and management agency Believe France – hope to capture the “personal stories and emotion in every track”.
