FISHER is The World’s No.1 House DJ in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs 2024
FISHER is The World’s No.1 House DJ in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs 2024.
Five years after first entering the poll, and claiming the Highest New Entry title in the process, the Aussie showman has climbed 12 places to boot down the doors of the top 10. Officially the eighth best DJ in the world according to Top 100 DJs voters, FISHER also claims the title of Highest House DJ this year, just beating Brazil’s Vintage Culture and South Korean DJ, Peggy Gou, who won the award last year.
Whether you’re a tech-house devotee or not, his boisterous persona and hit records have made FISHER a household name. His breakthrough 2018 track ‘Losing It’ pretty much kicked off the tectonic cultural shift of the US mainstream from EDM towards tech-house, with numerous artists in that year’s Top 100 DJs list calling it their top track at the time.
After spending a couple of years settling into the poll, he jumped a whopping 29 places to No. 48 in 2022. The same year the Fish cemented his place as one of the world’s most in-demand artists when he landed his debut Ibiza residency at Playa d’en Bossa’s Hï Ibiza. Propelled by another season at the World’s No. 1 Club, and the success of his ginormous collaboration with AATIG, the sultry ‘Take It Off’, last year’s Top 100 DJs saw another giant leap for the Aussie, who moved up 28 places, breaking into the top 20.
And now in 2024 he’s gone and done it again, climbing another 12 places to No. 8. So what’s FISHER been up to the past 12 months to garner yet another uptick in votes? Well, alongside gigs everywhere from Mumbai to Montréal to El Paso, Texas, he also hosted his own Out 2 Lunch Festival in his hometown of Gold Coast, and once again performed every Wednesday at Hï Ibiza throughout the summer with a host of world-renowned guest DJs — plus plenty of celebrities, and even a British politician!
This year the Fish also dropped a load of new tunes, including ‘Waiting For Tonight’, his huge collab with Jennifer Lopez, a 2024 update of Goyte’s ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ produced alongside Chris Lake and Sante Sansone, and remixes of ‘Jamming’ by the legendary Bob Marley and ‘It’s That Time’ by man of the moment Marlon Hoffstadt.
