Ewan McVicar remixes Groove Armada’s classic ‘I See You Baby’: Listen

Ewan McVicar has reworked Groove Armada’s classic 1999 anthem, ‘I See You Baby’. Listen to his Spacehouse Mix below.

The release is the latest in a slew of alternative versions of Groove Armada’s work, coinciding with their 25th anniversary. Logic1000, Dance System, and Fred Everything have all applied their own touches to original tunes from the outfit, with the latter teaming up with seminal producer Ashley Beedle.

“There was no topping Fatboy Slim’s remix of ‘I See You Baby’ so I went to Devon Analogue Studio and started turning it into a space head warper, and the new remix was born,” said McVicar of his latest offering, which pares things back for a heads down stomper with time-stretched vocals and growling lows. The track follows his last release, ‘Heather Park’, which landed on Ninja Tune’s Technicolour in July.

When it was first unveiled, ‘I See You Baby’ peaked at 17 in the UK singles charts at a time defined by dance music dominance in both the mainstream and underground. It also hit 12 in the Billboard Dance Chart. Featuring on the landmark album, ‘Vertigo’, five years after its initial release the tune was reissued as part of a ‘Best Of’ compilation, reaching new chart heights at 11 in the UK.
