Eastern Margins announces 14-date East Asia tour, Road 2 Redline

Eastern Margins is embarking on a tour of East Asia under the heading Road 2 Redline beginning later this month.

From 28th September to 28th October, Eastern Margins will travel to 14 cities in Mainland China, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The tour will kick off at Chengdu club AXIS and close at Hangzhou venue LOOPY, with stops at Shanghai’s ALL, Tokyo’s and Osaka’s CIRCUS, Seoul’s Cakeshop, Beijing’s Dada, Taipei’s FINAL and more in between. There’ll also be a Seoul Community Radio and Eastern Margins pop-up on 18th October.

LVRA and Lumi will be leading the tour and performing at all dates (save for the Taipei and Hangzhou gigs when only LVRA will headline) and will be joined by a cast of Eastern Margins label artists, friends and family, including 1300, QQBBG, Jex Wang, Wu Hun, Wondergirl, Kitty, JUMADIBA, Numb’n’dub, Dirty K and more.

The upcoming tour, highlighting the crew’s Hi-NRG sound-meets-“DIY ‘why not’ mentality”, according to the press release, is a continuation of the six-stop edition of Road 2 Readline through Southeast Asia with Archipelago Festival over this past May and June.

Later this month, Eastern Margins will participate in a new one-day community-focused collaborative conference, Orbit Live, at East London space The Halley.

Earlier this year, James Gui spoke to Eastern Margins about its first five years, connecting artists and collectives from East & South-East Asia and its diaspora, and more. Revisit the feature and Jex Wang’s label mix here.
