DJ Bone launches FURTHER label with two new EPs

DJ Bone is set to launch his new label, FURTHER, with the release of two EPs.

One of them, ‘The Portal’, features four new tracks by DJ Bone himself, while the other, ‘We Ain’t Like Them’, takes in music by Glasgow-based producer Yeti Mind Tricks, who came to Bone’s attention in 2022 via a pair of EPs he put out on DJ 3000’s Motech label.

The launch of FURTHER comes after the Detroit DJ took the decision to close down his Subject Detroit label after 25 years. Both EPs will be released on Friday, 27th October.

The label shares its name with DJ Bone’s latest album, as well as the party series that he has been running for the past three years at the club RADION in his now home base of Amsterdam. The venue will host the latest edition of Bone’s annual Homeless Homies ADE fundraiser tomorrow (Saturday, 21st October), and ticket-buyers for the event will be given a chance to get an advance listen of both upcoming releases on FURTHER.

In a statement, DJ Bone said: “I decided to kick off my new label, FURTHER, with a release from Yeti Mind Tricks titled ‘We Ain’t Like Them’, due to those words uttered throughout the track. Yeti sent it to me as a demo and after playing it out a few times I knew that this was more than a track: it was a raw and to-the-point description of myself and the entire FURTHER crew.

“The second release will be from yours truly. ‘The Portal’ EP steps into new territory for me, and marks the exciting launch of this endeavour of pushing things further than I ever have before.”
