DJ Bone announces new album as part of FURTHER Records milestone release series
DJ Bone has announced a new album.
The Detroit DJ and producer is dropping six releases on 1st June via his FURTHER label to mark several milestones, including the 35th birthday of his music career, five years of his Amsterdam party FURTHER and his own 55th.
As well as his new album, ‘DJ Bone XXXV: The End of Never’, the scheduled releases include ‘Subject Detroit’s 30th Anniversary Remixes’ compilation, a new single under his house/disco alias Doc Ciroc called ‘Living Life’, and the ‘Deep Like the Sea’ EP from Azucy.
There will also be two other EP releases: Yeti Mind Tricks’s ‘Wannabe Gangsters’ EP and Serge Jansen’s ‘Trust Me’ EP.
“Doing things differently has always been a badge of honour for me. Choosing your own path, surprising people … this is what techno used to be all about,” he said in a press release. “We’re releasing all of these together in the hope of reigniting that sense of “what will he do next?”. Of course, each release is amazing on its own, but together, FURTHER is even stronger. Expect more unforeseen things.”
Bone inaugurated his new label FURTHER in 2023 with the release of two EPs, following the closure of his Subject Detroit imprint after 25 years of existence.
Meanwhile, DJ Bone’s Homeless Homies made its return to Amsterdam’s ADE 2024. All proceeds from the fundraising club night, which the Detroit legend has been hosting with his wife since 2002, went “directly to help the unhoused”.
Dr. Rubinstein, HAAI, Mella Dee, Ben Sims, Roman Flügel, Hiroko Yamamura, and a number of other DJs joined in the event.
