Disclosure share new album track featuring Kehlani and Syd, ‘Birthday’: Listen

Disclosure have revealed the fourth single from upcoming album ‘ENERGY’, featuring Kehlani and Syd.

‘Birthday’ follows ‘Douha (Mali Mali)’ featuring previous collaborator Fatoumata Diawara, ‘My High’ featuring slowthai and Aminé and ‘ENERGY’. 

On the concept of the song, Howard explained: “Syd & I were going through a similar thing at the time, trying to work out if it was cool to call your ex to say hi or is it too awkward/mean to do so out of the blue?”
 
“It’s the oldest song on the album by far so has definitely stood the test of time and deservedly made the cut,” Guy added. “And the addition of Kehlani just took it to the next level and turned into a fire duet.”

The duo have also dropped a VIP mix of the single, a tradition of theirs which has seen these clubbier edits historically becoming fan favourites.

LP ‘Energy’, which releases tomorrow, marks the Lawrence brothers’ first new album in five years, following 2015’s ‘Caracal’, and comprises 11 tracks featuring a wide array of collaborators.

In July, the brothers Lawrence announced they would be launching a new series of live streams based around studio production and engineering on their Twitch channel.
