Dekmantel relaunches UFO label with Wata Igarashi and Piezo EPs
Dekmantel is reviving the UFO label with new EPs by Wata Igarashi and Piezo.
The Amsterdam promoter and imprint’s relaunched sublabel, named after its signature festival stage, will release two EPs on 24th January, 2025. Tokyo producer Wata Igarashi’s ‘Kaleidoscopic’ will feature four new tracks that blend acid, ambient and techno.
The Milan-based producer and Ansia label Piezo’s upcoming four-track is titled ‘Ecstatic Nostalgia’, tapping into genres like bass, breakbeat and techno.
Following those EPs, UFO plans to release new music by Broken English Club and Quelza.
The last releases on UFO before its hiatus were Aquarian’s ‘Mutations I: Death, Taxes & Hanger’ and ‘Mutations II: Delicious Intent’ in 2022.
Earlier this year, Dekmantel released a 44-track compilation, featuring Jeff Mills, Peach, Kode9, Call Super, DJ Nobu and more, to mark its 10th anniversary.
This past March, Piezo spoke to Christian Eede about the Italian freetekno rave scene, his time in Bristol and his Ansia label in the Recognise interview and mix series.
Wata Igarashi has released the ‘WIP09’ EP and a split with DJ Nobu for fabric Originals so far this year.
