Defected and Meyba unveil limited edition football shirt

Defected has collaborated with iconic sportswear brand MEYBA on a range of limited edition football shirts.

The celebratory design – which draws inspiration from Croatia’s 1998 FIFA World Cup kit – coincides with the eighth edition of Defected’s Croatia festival in August, as well as the 25th anniversary of the brand.

The shirt incorporates a number of design elements honouring Defected’s 25-year lineage, including a ‘25’ squad number, the brand’s Worldwide badge, and two stitched gold stars representing its two UK No.1 singles.

“The worlds of football, music and fashion have never been so closely aligned – football shirts are now a firm favourite amongst club and festival goers, making this unique limited-edition shirt for Defected Croatia 24’ the perfect collaboration,” Jonathan Jones, Head of Global Marketing at MEYBA, shared.

“Partnering with a brand engrained within football’s culture and heritage was a natural fit for Defected,” Simon Dawson, Brand Director at the label, added. “Collaboratively we have designed a limited-edition Defected x MEYBA shirt that looking back 25 years or so is a nod to the classic Croatia kit from the 1998 World Cup, featuring some unique Defected touches throughout.”

The special edition shirts are available now at www.store.defected.com.

Earlier this year, Defected Records announced a series of collaborative releases, ‘Together’, to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Featured artists include Sam DivineHannah WantsJem CookeLouie Vega and Kenny Dope, and more.

Last month, Marshall Jefferson was announced as the latest artist to receive a Defected Records ‘House Masters’ compilation.

In April, Meyba teamed up with Snowbombing Festival to release a football shirt in aid of War Child UK.
