Death Row Records is marking its 30th anniversary with a brand new fashion collection, which sees the legendary hip hop label collaborate with California-based company Shoe Palace.
The collection, which is on sale now, takes in hoodies, t-shirts, shorts, jogging pants and jackets, emblazoned with the Death Row Records logo. Some items also includes various other designs referencing the label’s history, such as Snoop Dogg’s classic 1993 album ‘Doggystyle’.
Speaking about the collaboration, John Mersho, Vice President of Shoe Palace, said in a statement: “I was practically raised on Death Row music. Those albums, those songs, they are kind of the soundtrack of my life. I was excited to bring this Death Row apparel collection to life.”
The full collection is set to go on sale on Tuesday, 7th December. You can browse all of the items via Shoe Palace’s website, where you can also see a number of the items being modelled by Death Row artists Daz & Kurupt, and Nate Dogg’s son Nhale.
As well as marking Death Row’s 30th anniversary, the collection’s launch coincides with the 25th anniversary of ‘Death Row Greatest Hits’, which was released in November 1996. Shoe Palace will host a virtual, commemorative platinum album plaque ceremony in Los Angeles, honouring the Death Row Records artists that helped build the label’s legacy, and fans will be able to view the plaques at the Shoe Palace Melrose Avenue location throughout December.
Earlier this year, Death Row Records reissued the soundtrack for ‘Above The Rim’ on cassette.
Tupac and Snoop Dogg also featured as part of a virtual exhibition, ‘Experience On Death Row’, to mark three decades of the legendary hip hop label.
