Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter’s ‘CHIROPTERA’ project documentary released: Watch

Thomas Bangalter’s ‘CHIROPTERA’ project documentary is now available to watch.

The former Daft Punk member created a soundtrack for the dance performance — which featured 154 dancers and took place at the Paris Opera House last November — alongside a near six-hour extended version, ‘Chiroptera Matiere Premiere’, both released in June

The new documentary, Dans la lumière, peels back the curtain on the ambitious dance and music project via a 30-minute film directed by Vincent Lorca, which is available to stream on the YouTube page of French culture platform Arte.

You can check out the film in full below.

Bangalter recently co-produced Lil Nas X’s new single, ‘Light Again!’, working on the track with writers and producers Take A Daytrip, Omer Fedi and Jasper Harris.

At the start of the year, he also released his score for the Salvador Dalí-inspired film DAAAAAALÍ while 2023 saw the arrival of ‘Mythologies’, a 90-minute orchestral score for a ballet of the same name.

In 2024, it was revealed that the French artist had been working on the new album by ex-Kraftwerk member Wolfgang Flür, alongside Juan Atkins and New Order’s Peter Hook.
