Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter has revealed his first project since the French duo’s split, the score for a new ballet titled ‘Mythologies’.

A co-production between Opéra National de Bordeaux and the ballet company Ballet Preljocaj, the 90-minute show is about the “founding myths that shape the collective imagination,” according to the official French description.

Choreographer and Ballet Preljocaj founder Angelin Preljocaj is set to direct ‘Mythologies’, which will run the 1st-10th July, 2022 at the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux in Bordeaux, France. The Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine will perform Bangalter’s score, with musical direction by Romain Dumas.

You can find more information on the production here.

News of Bangalter’s involvement in ‘Mythologies’ follows on from a mini-podcast series, launched last month by writer Ben Cardew, which offers an in-depth track-by-track look at Daft Punk’s classic album ‘Discovery’.
