Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter has co-produced Lil Nas X’s new single, ‘Light Again!’

One-half of the French duo worked on the track along fellow writers and producers Take A Daytrip, Omer Fedi and Jasper Harris. The song appears to be lifted from a forthcoming Lil Nas X album called ‘Dreamboy’, though full details of the wider project are currently under wraps.

The unveiling of ‘Light Again!’ comes after Bangalter was spotted in the studio with Lil Nas X during a TikTok video that the latter shared in June 2022.

The release of the new song has been met with some controversy as Sega Bodega, and others online, noted the artwork’s similarity to that of his 2021 track ‘Angel On My Shoulder’. Addressing the resemblance, Sega Bodega posted on X: “Not even trying to put a spin on it is where I’m like yeesh.”

Earlier this year, Bangalter released a soundtrack for the 2023 dance performance ‘Chiroptera’.

Before that, he released his score for the Salvador Dalí-inspired film DAAAAAALÍ.
