Community-focused monthly mid-week party, No Edits, launched by London club labels

A new community-focused, mid-week party is starting in London, hosted by four of the city’s most-respected independent dance music labels.

Running from 6PM to midnight at The Carpet Shop, Peckham, No Edits will begin its monthly residency on Thursday 14th March. Each edition will feature an unannounced line-up.

Entry is free to mailing list subscribers, and you can sign up here.

Run by heads behind Scuffed Recordings, Hooversound, More Time and Future Bounce – namely Ian DPM and Wager, SHERELLE and NAINAAhadadream and Sam Interface, and Jamz Supernova –  No Edits aims to create a “conduit for underground club music enthusiasts to dance, meet, discover and share knowledge”. Plans for early evening Q&As, demo submissions, and other activities nurturing talent will form part of future programmes, although it’s not clear what this will look like going forward.

“We’ve all known each other for years, and a lot of us met through partying and radio so we know how ideas and conversations come together in smoking areas and at raves,” said Hooversound’s NAINA. “Now that we’re all running our own labels we want to collectively come together to launch No Edits, so people can meet, share ideas, share demos, and create a space where musicians and creatives get to know each other so we can push the scene forward together.”

“With more and more spaces closing and prices making it harder for a lot of people to go out regularly, it’s super important to have a space not only to hear great music but meet, talk and make connections with likeminded people,” added Scuffed Recordings’ Wager. “All of us involved in No Edits met and built our friendships in spaces like these, and we want to be able to nurture those same connections for the community. If we can play a part in that then that’s our job done!”
