cktrl releases new single, 'love + war': Listen

UK artist has shared a new track, called ‘love + war’.

Drawing on ambient and classical music, as well as R&B and avant-garde jazz, the new cut is the second song to be unveiled from forthcoming EP ‘yield’, which will be released on 28th October.

‘love + war’ includes background vocals from Atlanta-based R&B singer-songwriter OPHIE. Speaking about her contribution to the track, cktrl said: “The inspiration behind ‘love + war’ basically came from OPHIE having just gone through a difficult breakup.

“She was at a point where she was trying to come to terms with the relationship being over while still processing her feelings. Anger and confusion was just lingering. ‘love + war’ was written from that perspective.”
