Charli XCX to star in A24 film, The Moment, scored by A.G. Cook
Charli XCX will have a starring role in a new A24 film.
The Moment has been scored by the UK artist’s longtime collaborator A.G. Cook and is the inaugural project for her new production company Studio365, according to Variety.
The film’s plot, which has yet to be disclosed, has been cooked up by Charli XCX herself and marks the directorial debut for Scottish photographer and filmmaker Aidan Zamiri. Bertie Brandes also worked on the screenplay.
The Moment is being released by A24, the studio behind some of the most talked-about films of the past decade, including Midsommar and Uncut Gems. In 2023, A24 restored Talking Heads’ 1984 concert film Stop Making Sense in 4K.
According to Deadline, Charli XCX is due to star alongside Olivia Wilde and Cooper Hoffman in upcoming Gregg Araki thriller I Want Your Sex. In April 2023, TheWrap reported that she had been cast to appear in the remake of the 1978 horror movie Faces of Death with Barbie Ferreira and Stranger Things actor Dacre Montgomery.
Charli’s critically acclaimed 2024 ‘Brat’ LP is up for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album at this year’s Grammys, which takes place on Sunday, 2nd February at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. It was named one of DJ Mag’s favourite albums of the year.
Last November, KI/KI jumped on a remix of Charli XCX & Billie Eilish’s summer link-up, ‘Guess’.
