Burial releases new EP, ‘Streetlands’, on Hyperdub

Burial has released a surprise new EP, ‘Streetlands’, for Hyperdub.

The ambient-leaning three-tracker comprises ‘Hospital Chapel’, the title track, and ‘Exokind’, and clocks in at just under 35 minutes. Listen to ‘Streetlands’ below. A vinyl release is set to follow on 27th January.

This new EP follows the five-track ‘ANTIDAWN’ EP, which was released in January 2022 and marked the UK producer’s first release for Hyperdub since December 2020’s two-tracker ‘Chemz / Dolphinz’.

Running nearly 45 minutes, ‘ANTIDAWN’ was Burial’s longest release since his seminal 2007 album ‘Untrue’.

Earlier this year, Burial and Four Tet’s ‘Nova’ and ‘Moth’ were officially released on digital platforms, after first seeing the light of day on vinyl over a a decade ago. Four Tet announced the news on Instagram earlier this week, describing them as “two of the best tracks I’ve ever been part of”.

In 2020, the occasional studio partners Four Tet and Burial joined forces with Radiohead’s Thom Yorke on two tracks, ‘Her Revolution’ and ‘His Rope’, which arrived via seminal UK record label XL Recordings.
