Brooklyn Record Exchange opens new store in New York

Brooklyn Record Exchange has opened a new store in New York City.

The team opened their first shop three years ago, operating in the same Bushwick address as the Elsewhere nightclub alongside its partner label Mexican Summer. Now the operation is expanding, with a second site located beneath the Mexican Summer office in Greenpoint, Brooklyn with Gary’s Electric recording studio also sharing the building.

A launch party was held on Friday 24th June, with sets from Lauren Murada, Alyssa Stowers, and Timo Lee. The premises will welcome customers from 12PM to 8PM Wednesday to Sunday. New and used music, merchandise, books, and movies will all be on sale. There will also be dedicated sections for both Mexican Summer and the label’s reissue arm, Anthology.

Last year, vinyl sales in the US surpassed CD purchases for the first time in 30 years, with $467million worth of wax bought in the first half of 2021 alone.
