Bootshaus has launched a VR version of the German club.

Hosting the likes of Alan Fitzpatrick, Charlotte de Witte, FJAAK and Joseph Capriati prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, and ranking No. 6 in this year’s Top 100 Clubs poll, Cologne club Bootshaus has now launched a virtual version of the venue, which can be experienced through screen or VR headsets.

Replicating the club’s main room and outdoor areas in detail, Bootshaus has tapped up the likes of elrow and Serbia’s EXIT Festival for virtual parties in the coming months, as well as digital takeover from Israeli psytrance duo, Vini Vici, featuring Blastoyz.

Speaking about the club’s virtual plans in a statement, Bootshaus owner Fabian Thylmann said: “We’re excited to share this VR experience forthe international dance music community to enjoy. It’s a project we’ve been working on for along time and releasing it now feels more important than ever. The VR project once again sees Bootshaus at the forefront of the industry and it’s an honour to team up with some ofthe industry’s key players to deliver a stellar collection of events that can be experienced from homes globally.”

You can find out more about Bootshaus VR here. The first event, with a takeover from elrow and Desperados, takes place this weekend on the 28th November.

In June, the German government announced it had committed €150 million to its live music industry as part of broader plans to kickstart the economy.
