Boiler Room x Ballantine’s True Music returned last week with a new project that continued their longstanding support for music communities.

COLLECTIVE.TV — a broadcast section of Boiler Room’s virtual festival SYSTEMRESTART.TV — shone a spotlight on eight global collectives: MARICAS, Moonshine, Directions Radio, Brutaz, Cxema, Bubblegum Club, Radio Alhara and Absurd Trax.

Understanding the impact of the pandemic on underground music communities, COLLECTIVE.TV follows on from Boiler Room x Ballantine’s ‘Streaming from Isolation’ series which provided grants to 20 under-threat music collectives around the world, while also platforming them through broadcast events.

“As a brand we continue to stand by local music communities all over the world who we know have been hit hard by the pandemic” said Tom Elton, Ballantine’s Head of Music. “Through our long-term partnership with Boiler Room, we continue to find means to support those we see as key headliners of tomorrow,” he continued.

The collectives used their broadcasts to showcase the talents of their local communities and provide a visual flavour of the cities and scenes they represent, through music, visuals and interviews.
