Berlin DJ streaming platform HÖR to launch new website and subscription service

Berlin-based online radio station HÖR is launching a new website, as well as a subscription service.

While standard radio broadcasts will continue to be available to listen to live and archived for free, the radio station will introduce a number of new features for paid subscribers. Among those features are tracklists for shows, a library containing all past broadcasts, a personal area for people to save their favourite sets and tracks, and a moderated live comments section.

The subscription model is being set up, HÖR said, to ensure “a more sustainable revenue system by developing a fair-share model that introduces a new income stream for artists and keeps the operation up and running”.

The new site and subscription service will launch on 17th October.

HÖR was set up in 2019 and increased its profile significantly amid the COVID-19 pandemic with a number of DJs passing through its distinctive bathroom-like studio setting to play live-streamed sets.
