Ben Sims has dropped a new mix compilation, ‘Synchronicity’.
The package first arrived earlier this year in two 20-track parts, and has now been released in a ‘definitive edition’, with a mix of all those tunes put together by the London-based DJ. You can buy both parts of the ‘Synchronicity’ on Bandcamp here and here.
On the setlist techno fans will find a number of high profile household names alongside rising talent. The Lady Machine, Lady Starlight, Black Girl / White Girl, Szmer, Elisa Bee, Blasha & Allatt, Dotdat, Ritzi Lee, Arnaud Le Texier, Kerrie, Industrialyzer, and Yant all make appearances.
The razor sharp and incredibly physical four-deck mix, which manages to cover 40 tunes in just under 70-minutes, offers an insight into both Sims the highly respected DJ, and Sims as head of the Symbolism imprint, which he restarted in 2020 after a three year hiatus.
Earlier this month, Sims walked away with the Underground Hero award at the DJ Mag Best of British Awards 2021. In June, he was one of 100 techno producers to contribute a new, unreleased track to the ‘PX099: 100 Years Of Colombia’, aimed at spreading awareness about police brutality and violence during Colombia’s anti-corruption movement.
