Beatport now accepting bitcoin; announce NFT AV compilation

News

Beatport is now accepting bitcoin as payment on its website from June, and has teamed up with Crypto.com on a new A/V NFT collaboration with Boys Noize, Charlotte de Witte, Sasha, Third Son, Sama Abdulhadi and more. The NFT collection will feature unreleased tracks from the artists involved alongside visual art from Berlin-based artist Leif Podhajsky who’s worked with Bonobo, Tame Impala and the Sydney Opera House.

According to Beatport: “All ten tracks will then be packaged with bonus material as a 10-of-10 auction, and will include the bonus track, four guest passes to one show for each artist and extra visual content. A portion of the proceeds will be contributed to charity, including a carbon offset donation from Beatport.”

Charlotte de Witte said: “The world of NFTs is an interesting new platform for artists to explore their output. We’re very curious to explore this new world together with Beatport and learn what this could mean for our world.”
