BAMBII releases new single, ‘One Touch’: Listen

BAMBII has shared her latest single, ‘One Touch’. Listen to it below.

The Toronto-based artist and founder of local queer party Jerk uses nostalgia to bring together dancehall, jungle and garage on the new track, out now via Innovative Records. “Years ago I was in Jamaica and was surprised to hear a jungle track blaring from someone’s car that made me stop and listen”, BAMBII said about the inspiration for the single. “I’m trying to give listeners that raw feeling of the dancehall I grew up with but with all the rage and chaos of the rave.”

“I am hugely influenced by the UK music scene,” she continued. “I feel like it’s one of the main places where Caribbean music has pushed the electronic realm at large. I am equally invested in nostalgia as much as the future and try to convey that on every track.”

‘One Touch’ follows up November 2022’s ‘Ride With Me‘ single. In 2021, she released the ‘Twitch‘ and ‘Truck Riddim‘ EPs.

BAMBII recently contributed production to Kelela’s February album, ‘Raven‘, her first LP in five years. She also featured on Florentino’s XL Recording debut single, ‘Constrictor‘.

Check out the single on Bandcamp, and watch the clip for ‘One Touch’.
