Washington D.C-based DJ, producer and label boss Baby Weight has shared a new EP, ‘It’s Giving’ via HE.SHE.THEY. Check it out below.

The EP includes two tracks: the Ballroom, Jersey and Baltimore club-inspired ‘Slay 4 Me’ – featuring vocals from LA-based artist, Jesse Fields – and the “aggressive, no-nonsense” ‘Persist’.

Speaking on the B-side track, ‘Persist’, Baby Weight said she was “tired” of “all the bigotry and shitty comments some people make towards me and other queer people in dance music spaces. Both of these tracks are essentially a call-to-arms.”

Earlier this year, Baby Weight was included in DJ Mag’s emerging artist you need to hear list. They also performed earlier this month at the DJ Mag Presents party at The Concourse Project, during the SXSW Festival supporting recent DJ Mag North America cover star Wreckno

Last year, the inclusive label and collective HE.SHE.THEY teamed up with the mixed reality event specialist Volta to put on three parties at the legendary Ibiza club, Amnesia. In 2021, the collective launched an app, created by co-founders Steven Braines and Sophia Kearney, aimed at bringing together the various strands of the collective’s activities, while also offering a place to chat, make new friends and even date online.

Baby Weight’s new EP ‘It’s Giving’ is out now. Listen to it below.
