Avalon Emerson & The Charm announces debut album with new single ‘Hot Evening’: Listen
Avalon Emerson is releasing her debut album under her new & The Charm project this spring. Listen to the new single ‘Hot Evening’ below.
The US artist first revealed Avalon Emerson & The Charm in January with the ‘Sandrail Silhouette’ single. Emerson collaborates with London producer Nathan Jenkins, AKA Bullion, wife Hunter Lombard and friend Keivon Hobeheidar in an intentional shift from her primarily solitary DJ and producing career. The self-titled pop-leaning LP is out on 28th April via Another Dove, a new label she’s launching with AD 93 founder Nic Tasker.
Emerson describes new single, ‘Hot Evening’, as “a stamped passport. It’s a series of diary entries, home movies, and polaroids. It’s the moment of calm when 200 adults all partake in group snack time and nap time at 35 thousand feet. It’s seeing the same sun set over a new city skyline. It’s wondering if I’ve spent my youth on too many proverbial and literal moving sidewalks, going forward sure, but to where? And will there just be another long terminal to cross when I arrive?”
Avalon Emerson adds, “The sonic inspiration comes from somewhere between Todd Edwards, the Magnetic Fields, and the Chordettes.” Her first vocal-led single was a cover of Magnetic Field’s ‘Long Forgotten Fairytale’ for her 2020 DJ-Kicks mix.
