Arturia announces Ensoniq SQ80 clone

News

Arturia has added another synth to its V Collection series – the Ensoniq SQ80. The ’80s classic has warm tones matched with early digital grit, giving it a unique sound used by everyone from John Carpenter to Adamski.

The clone is a faithful recreation, using the combination of waveform and wavetable oscillators and CEM analogue filter from the original with modulation options via LFOs and envelopes. Arturia has also added hundreds of new waveshapes to their clone, as well as an additional arpeggiator, MIDI modulation and 15 built-in effects with two busses. They’ve also added MPE capability for any controllers that support it.

Watch the video below to hear the Ensoniq SQ80 V in action and find out more on the Arturia website.
