Arcadia's spider stage to host Carl Cox, Calvin Harris, Nia Archives, more at Glastonbury

Arcadia is bringing its elaborate 50-ton, fire-breathing Spider stage back to Glastonbury for this summer’s festival.

Having taken a year out in 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic forced two successive cancellations of the festival, the Spider is back and will this year host sets from the likes of Four Tet, DJ EZ, Calvin Harris, Nia Archives, TSHA, Jon Hopkins and Nina Kraviz.

A number of special b2b DJ sets are also planned to take place on the stage, including Carl Cox playing with Chase & Status, and Sub Focus playing with Dimension. Some very special guests will also pop up on the stage over the course of the weekend.

The Spider’s creative engineers Pip Rush and Bert Cole said of the stage’s return: “It’s been three long years since the Glastonbury family were all together. Bringing the Spider back felt like the perfect way to reunite – we can’t wait to fire her up.”

The stage, a press release explains, boasts “a vast array of effects, from moveable limbs firing C02, to heavyweight pyrotechnics, to piercing lasers to cutting edge lighting”.

This year’s Glastonbury will take place from Wednesday, 22nd June until Sunday, 26th June. Last month, the line-up for the Silver Hayes dance music area was revealed, including Anz, Batu, SHERELLE and lots more.
