Alison Wonderland announces new album, 'Loner', shares single: Listen

Alison Wonderland has revealed details of her new album, titled ‘Loner’.

Set for release on 6th May, the 12-track album features previously released singles ‘Fear Of Dying’, ‘Fuck U Love U’ and ‘Bad Things’. A new track from the album, titled ‘New Day’, has also been released to mark the record’s announcement, which you can watch a video for below.

‘Loner’ has its origins in the lockdowns of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the isolation that came with that period. “My life was going a certain way before something pulled everything out from under me,” Alison Wonderland said in a statement about the new album. “It left me entirely alone, and it all happened around the same time as COVID. I felt like I had hit my rock bottom.”

After revisiting some of her past albums for the first time in an extended period, she said, “I realised that I have always seen myself as the victim of my story. This time, something shifted in me, and I decided that I didn’t want to be the victim anymore. Instead, whatever I wrote from here would empower me, and help me find strength in this loneliness.”

Further describing the album as feeling “like a rebirth”, the artist said: “I owe it to whoever else is out there who was like me, wishing they had an album to empower them to feel less alone and know that it’s all going to be OK one day.”

Coinciding with the album’s release, she’ll be heading out on a tour of North America through the coming months, taking in appearances at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival, as well as in Los Angeles, New York, Boston, Chicago and elsewhere.

Alison Wonderland first teased the release of ‘Loner’ at the end of 2021.
