96 Back announces new album on SVBKVLT, ‘tender, exit’

96 Back has announced a new album on SVBKVLT. Listen to its first single ‘Rubber Knife’ below.

Out 27th November, ‘tender, exit’ features Manchester vocalists LINTD and terrashotta, and is the sixth LP for the Sheffield-born DJ and producer born Evan Majumdar-Swift.

The 12-track LP is described as “a long-form eulogy” to Majumdar-Swift’s years living in Manchester while he was preparing for a move to London. It was initially intended as “a series of technical exercises”, which involved streamlining his production setup.

“The overarching concept of the record is cycles, recognising them, loving them, and tearing yourself away from them,” said Majumdar-Swift of the album, which was also influenced by his recent tour with Iceboy Violet. “I was trying to explore the ways in which we soften the blow around change and trying to mirror this sonically.”

Earlier this year, 96 Back produced a single for Tampa Bay duo They Hate Change, titled ‘Wallabies & Weejuns’.

‘tender, exit’ follows 96 Back’s 2022 LP for Local Action, ‘Cute Melody, Window Down!’
