Amsterdam has a new club, Parallel

A new club, called Parallel, has opened in Amsterdam.

Overseen by local promoters Paradiso, the space opened earlier this month on the site of the Tolhuistuin / Paradiso Noord venue, which has been newly renovated into a nightclub. The opening party, on Saturday, 12th March, featured a headline appearance from DJ Lag, while Paramida and Eclair Fifi also played this past weekend.

Upcoming programme highlights include appearances from Josey Rebelle (1st April), Karenn (with a Voam label party on 2nd April), Pangaea (9th April) and JASSS (23rd April). PC Music are also locked in for a label showcase on 6th May.

Some events at the venue will be booked in-house, while others will see the Parallel team link up with various Amsterdam promoters.

Speaking to Resident Advisor, Joshka Landsheer, from Parallel’s marketing team, said: “Parallel isn’t about big headline DJs but about people connecting and enjoying (new) music and art together.

“With one foot in the now and one foot in the future, we showcase multifaceted club nights and live acts in a broad variety of genres related to electronic and hip hop music, from amapiano to UK garage and from techno to Afro house.”
