SXM announces more names for 2022 festival

SXM festival has announced more names for its 2022 edition, which returns to the Caribbean island of Saint Martin next month.

Audiofly, Layla Benitez, Magdalena, Marco Carola, Roustam, UnderHer and Innellea (live) are among the artists confirmed in the latest announcement, playing across boats, beaches, jungle stages, and clubs from 9th – 13th March.

Names previously unveiled Danny Tenaglia, Raresh, Ricardo Villalobos, Blond:ish, Carlita, Âme, Alexi Delano, and Sonja Moonear, with live sets from Wahm and WhoMadeWho.

Also on the bill is a live performance from a new musical project featuring Isadore ‘Mighty Dow’ York and the artist’s Ebony Steel Orchestra. Combining house, techno, and traditional steel pans, an album is also set to be released which will give proceeds to the country’s schools.

Environmental initiatives such as eliminating plastics and using LED and solar lighting to reduce energy consumption will be in operation. Organisers aim to recycle 100% of waste through Saint Martin-Based Verde SXM.

This year also sees the expansion of SXM DOET, a partnership project with Oranje Fonds and Be The Change Foundation. Originally set up following the devastating impact of Hurricane Irma, which hit the island in 2017, a total of 98 projects are registered for 2022, with SXM Festival attendees encouraged to take part. Tickets for SXM are on sale now.
