Spoken word artist Farah Ahmad Khan and Balraj Singh Samrai from Manchester crew Swing Ting explore intersectional environmentalism on their new collaborative work, ‘Planet-People Power’. Check it out below.
Commissioned by Manchester Museum and Season for Change, ‘Planet-People Power’ explores “Black, Indigenous & South Asian diaspora experiences in relation to climate change, touching on intersectional environmentalism, environmental inequality and the ecological interconnectedness between Manchester and the Global South”.
Blending poetry, interviews with music, and field samples of nature, the 11-minute work features the likes of tabla player Vikaash Sankadecha, violinist Rakhi Singh, and poetry from Gavsborg.
