AYA announces debut album, ‘im hole’, on Hyperdub

News

AYA has announced her debut album, ‘im hole’, which will land on Hyperdub on 22nd October.

The label has confirmed the record will be available in digital formats, while a physical version comes in the form of a hardback, clothbound book of lyrics, poems, and photographs, designed by Oliver Van Der Lugt, AKA Air Max ’97, who collaborated with AYA as A2A for a recent release on Local Action. It’s the first time the imprint has used this approach, although past releases have arrived on alternative media forms, including a special edition Sega Megadrive cartridge compilation.

AYA has previously appeared on Houndstooth and Allergy Season, among other labels, and formerly went under the production alias LOFT, at which point she was working with the likes of Tri Angle, Astral Plane, and Wisdom Teeth.

The first single from the new album has already been unveiled, ‘Emley lights us moor’, which features an appearance from Manchester-based vocal, production and performance talent, Iceboy Violet. In addition to the LP, AYA also has a string of European dates lined up, details and the video are below.
