DMX’s new posthumous album track, ‘Hood Blues’, has been unveiled.

Co-produced by Avenue Beatz and X’s longtime friend and collaborator Swiss Beatz, the tune features appearances from Conway the Machine, Benny the Butcher, and Griselda’s Westside Gunn. The track is taken from the ‘Exodus’ album, which arrives Friday 28th May.

The latest song from the forthcoming LP, it follows ‘Been To War’ with French Montana (taken from the ‘Godfather of Harlem’ score), and ‘X Moves’, a collaboration with Bootsy Collins, Ian Prince of Deep Purple and Yes man Steve Howe.

Sunday 21st May’s Billboard Awards in Los Angeles saw Swiss Beatz play tribute to his “brother” DMX, who tragically died aged 50 following a heart attack and reported overdose on 9th April.

“This year in hip-hop has been really hard,” the producer said. “We lost so many amazing souls. We would like to honor their lives, and I would like to honor my brother, DMX, the great.”

“He made music with raw passion. He spoke to the streets, he spoke to the world. He prayed for others before he could pray for himself. He loved others before he would love himself. His music is iconic magic to the world. His legacy will forever be remembered,” Beatz added, before presenting the Top Rap Song gong to DaBaby and Roddy Ricch for their tune, ‘ROCKSTAR’.
