3,000 people attend UK's first legal club night since March 2020: in pictures
The COVID trial event took place at Bramley-Moore Dock in Liverpool
The UK’s first legal club night since the coronavirus pandemic forced a national lockdown last March took place at Bramley-Moore Dock in Liverpool last night (30th April).
Earlier this month, it was announced that 6,000 people would be attending Liverpool’s Bramley-Moore Dock for two events taking place across one weekend, allowing the government’s Events Research Programme (ERP) to study club environments and the spread of coronavirus.
The first took place last night (30th April), with Yousef’s party Circus hosting The Blessed Madonna, Jayda G, Lauren Lo Sung and more.
Attendees were required to live within a Liverpool City Region postcode to be able to attend, and were also required to have a negative coronavirus lateral flow test 24 hours prior to the event. Face coverings and social distancing were not required at the venue, with attendees urged to take a PCR test five days after the event to ensure any transmission from the event can be monitored properly.
Tonight (1st May), the second Circus event at Bramley-Moore Dock takes place with Fatboy Slim, Hot Since 82, Heidi b2b Jaguar, Enzo Siragusa and more.
The ERP is hosting a series of pilots across a variety of Night Time Economy business settings, with the aim of assessing the safety of large scale events in terms of coronavirus transmission.
Later today, we are releasing a mini documentary on the first legal club night since the coronavirus pandemic forced a national lockdown last March. You can see a selection of photos from the event below.
