Oliver Heldens, Kaskade, Tchami and Subtronics to headline Monster Energy Up & Up Festival

News

Monster Energy Up & Up have announced their first college music festival of the year…with the final locations to be decided by an online competition.

50 schools and colleges across the United States are preparing to compete to bring Monster Energy Up & Up Spring Madness Festival to their city.

Eight winning colleges get to host a private, covid-compliant event with headliners picked from Oliver Heldens, Kaskade, Tchami or Subtronics, alongside some of the USA’s best college talent.

The voting, which runs from 10-13 March on the Up & Up Website, challenges competing colleges to get the most RSVPs. Voting partner Yappa will oversee the process.

In addition to the headliner, the winning schools can build an event from scratch, with a handpicked lineup of student performers, contests, giveaways, and online meet & greets. Tickets to all of the shows will be free, but only available to winning schools.

Monster Energy Up & Up Festival’s unique crowdsourced approach to festivals has been a hit on campuses for a good few years now. Previous headliners have included Cash Cash, Alan Walker and Slushii.

In addition to the interactive voting process, one of Monster Energy Up & Up festival’s major drivers is student mentorship. Steven Ferraro, Co-founder of the festival explains: “We’re excited to continue our tradition of bringing unique and meaningful experiences to college students. Since it debuted in 2016, the Monster Energy Up & Up Festival brand continues to grow — even through these times — largely in part to our passionate community of student ambassadors.”

As part of the process, student interns at the winning schools benefit from experience working with top-of-the-line production equipment and get music industry coaching from the internal Up & Up team, covering everything from event staging to marketing, management and beyond.
