Confidence Man and the KLF’s Jimmy Cauty collaborate on immersive exhibition, Emergency Chill Clinic
Australian duo Confidence Man have teamed up with Jimmy Cauty of The KLF and his Tower Block 1 studio for an immersive, audio-visual experience called the Emergency Chill Clinic (ECC).
Described as “a recovery experience for post-rave-goers in need of decompression”, the ECC is set in a hospital-inspired environment and uses film, music, and sensory care to “recalibrate overstimulated minds and bodies”.
They have also produced the Emergency Chill Clinic Film — which features some of Confidence Man’s music — to be the centrepiece of the experience. It is said to deliberately overstimulate the mind to balance and ground attendees and help them adjust from a rave environment into a meditative state.
Attendees will be guided through the experience by “Chill Clinicians” who will use health reports, relaxation techniques and diagnostic checks before the film is started.
The trio have been mutual admirers for some time. Confidence Man’s latest album, ‘3AM (LA LA LA)’, was inspired The KLF’s famed ‘3am Eternal’, and Cauty even worked on a remix of the closing track of ‘3AM (LA LA LA)’, which is featured in the ECC.
Performances run from 17th to 21st April in Soho, London. Tickets go on sale next Monday 17th March. Head here for more information.

In August the same year, The KLF shared unreleased music through the British Library’s free Sound Gallery.
