Premiere: GOTIS ‘Bby is sleeping’

In the closing weeks of her biggest year to date, which included huge DJ sets for her Nuit Brune collective and jam-packed monthly shows on PIÑATA Radio, the Montpellier-born, Paris-based DJ and producer is set to add yet another string to her musical bow. Out tomorrow (13th December), ‘RED THERAPY’ lurks in the hypnotic margins between house, techno and bass music, resulting in an EP full of floating dancefloor highs.

Alongside the deep, balmy grooves of ‘Shomondo’, ‘Load’ and ‘Bby is sleeping’ – premiering below – Montpellier favourites Pura Pura and Dylan Dylan deliver ravey remixes that shine a light on the talent bubbling up from the French underground.

“‘RED THERAPY’ is an EP I produced quite innocently in my old apartment in Montpellier,” GOTIS shared. “Initially, I had no intention of releasing it; it was more of a personal project, a sonic exploration without any pressure or constraints. The tracks on this EP blend analog and digital elements, creating a bridge between two sonic worlds.

“This EP represents a solo leap into electronic production for me, after years of making rock music in a band. While it marks a new chapter in my career, electronic music has always been a passion of mine,” she continued. “This transitional project signifies an important shift in my musical journey, allowing me to delve deeper into a style that has always intrigued me.

“I want to express my heartfelt thanks to Monstart for believing in my project and allowing me to release this EP today. Their support has been crucial in bringing ‘RED THERAPY’ to life.”

GOTIS is also co-founder of the Nuit Brune collective, where she works to raise the profile of female and queer artists, while nurturing spaces for freedom and creativity in the Parisian scene.
