Premiere: Sonia Salama ‘Khatar (Moving Still Edit)’

Moving Still will release a new edits EP later this week, ‘Ouddy Bangers Vol.2’. Have an exclusive first listen to his take on Sonia Salama’s ‘Khatar’ below.

Following the success of Vol.1 in 2021, the Saudi-Irish DJ and producer returns with four more Hi-NRG edits from the SWANA region, spanning ’80s and early ’90s pop and disco from Lebanon, Egypt and Morocco, all imbued with his own irresistible synth arps, funk-fueled bass and pumping drums.

Speaking about Sonia Salama’s ‘Khatar’ – a vocal-driven disco anthem he unearthed online – he said: “The original track is already a slammer, with a chorus that truly says it all. The music video is equally wild, I think it holds the essence of the song’s energy. Editing this track was hard at first as I couldn’t get it right, but once I added a bit of muscle, I couldn’t resist sneaking in a playful arp solo toward the end.”

“I’ve been eagerly awaiting the perfect moment to share ‘Ouddy Bangers Vol.2’ and now it’s finally here,” he continued. “Offering these tracks for free is my way of thanking everyone who’s supported me over the years. I hope they fill dance floors and create lasting memories and connections.”

‘Ouddy Bangers Vol.2’ will be available to stream, and to download for free on Bandcamp and Soundcloud, from 30th October.
