Chloé Caillet and SG Lewis share new single, ‘Be Somebody’: Listen
Chloé Caillet has teamed up with SG Lewis aka UK producer Sam Lewis for a new single.
Out now on Caillet’s own SMIILE label, ‘Be Somebody’ is described in as “a dynamic exploration of breakbeat rhythms and four-to-the-floor grooves, with pulsing synth lines, rising sound FX, and acid textures”.
The single marks the first time Caillet has provided vocals “properly” for her own music. “This track came about in such an organic way… I was in my kitchen cooking some food for us and Sam was playing this track that we’d just wrote in the studio and I spontaneously started humming along with a new melody and lyrics. Sam made me jump straight back into the studio and jump on the mic and sing it,” she said.
“This was my first time ever singing properly on a tune of mine! So this track means a lot and it’s about never forgetting to love yourself, putting yourself first and never never forgetting who you’re! So special to have another record out with my dear friend and incredibly talented artist Sam + my debut record that features my own vocals.”

This new single follows the London-based DJ and producer’s collaboration with Nyra, ‘Last One For Today’. Earlier this year, SG Lewis guested on ‘The Moment’, the lead single from Carlita’s Ninja Tune debut.
Caillet launched SMIILE with her solo single ’12 Inch Acid’ in January this year.
