Premiere: NOCUI ‘Crave The Physical’

NOCUI will release a new single from his forthcoming debut album later this week. Have an exclusive first listen to ‘Crave The Physical’ below.

On the third outing from ‘Italian Robot’ – out 25th October – the Rome-born, Berlin-based DJ, producer and sound artist continues to tread new sonic ground, topping his strutting retro-futurist grooves and electro funk rhythms with his own vocals for the very first time.

The cut completes a three-part conceptual story inspired by NOCUI’s background in neuroscience, delving deeper into themes of technology, society, and human existence that were first introduced on earlier singles, ‘Machine Power’ and ‘Give Up Control’. Simply put, this is house music that gets the neuron’s firing.

Speaking on his latest offering, NOCUI – who featured in DJ Mag’s monthly emerging artist round-up last year – shared: “I’m excited to share this part of myself and finally express my voice. For years, I held back, but now it’s time to let it shape the story of this album. As we drift deeper into the digital world, a sincere and vulnerable voice can help ground us back in our human experience.”

When he’s not cooking up intellectual heaters in the studio, NOCUI holds a residency at the prestigious Riverside Studios Berlin, where showcases his wide-spanning musical influences from Latin and Mediterranean sounds through to disco and ’00s house.

‘Crave The Physical’ is out 2nd August via NOCUI’s Shapeless Culture label. Pre-save the album here, and have an exclusive first listen to the new single below.
