Sara Landry becomes first hard techno DJ to play Tomorrowland main stage

Sara Landry earned the honour of becoming the first hard techno DJ to play the Tomorrowland Mainstage this past weekend.

The Californian DJ opened the premier stage at Tomorrowland on Saturday, 27th July. “I don’t think I’ll ever get over Saturday”, Landry wrote on Instagram after her performance. “To be asked to open the most iconic dance stage on the planet is such an honor, thank you so much Tomorrowland”.

Ahead of the opening slot, Landry talked to DJ Mag about her plans for the set and her anticipation leading up to it. She prepared to share about 20 unreleased cuts from her upcoming debut album, plus exclusive stems she gathered from her network, to present “just a cheeky bit of musical history”. “It’s kind of hard to put into words, it’s very exciting”, she said “…It’s an honour to be chosen by Tomorrowland to represent the genre and hopefully bring it to new people who’ll enjoy it”.

Details on Sara Landry’s debut album are still scarce, but she’s already released two tracks in advance: ‘Prisoner‘ with Alex Farrell and ‘Heaven‘ with ALT8. This past April, she featured on the cover of DJ Mag North America — revisit her in-depth interview with Megan Venzin.

To recap Tomorrowland 2024, you can watch nearly 130 sets from the festival, listen to the 10 most played tracks from the first weekend, and find more updates here.
