Mia Koden shares fundraising single, ‘Up (Run That)’, for Sudanese/South Sudanese causes

Mia Koden has shared a new single raising funds for charity initiatives working in Sudan and South Sudan.

‘Up (Run That)’ was made following the UK DJ and producer’s recent trip to Gottwood Festival, where she was inspired by all the “house-y vocalled stuff” she heard to make something similar of her own.

Featuring a “2000s club classic” style vocal sample from a part-Sudanese vocalist, the former Sicaria Sound member  – who also has Sudanese heritage – will donate all proceeds from the song to causes ‘close to her heart’, namely Darfur Women Action Group and Confident Children Out Of Conflict.

You can check out the track, which is available to buy digitally and on vinyl, below. Get it on Bandcamp here.

Last year, Koden made her debut on the Zenker Brothers’ Ilian Tape label with the four-track grime and dubstep-influenced ‘Decode’ EP.

Also in 2023, DJ Mag premiered the track ‘I Did’ from her self-released solo debut.

Nicolás Jaar, Blood Orange, and Yasiin Bey were among the guests who performed at the Artists for Aid show in London earlier this month, with 100% of all proceeds from the concert will be donated towards War Child’s response plan in Gaza and Sudan.
