Premiere: Cromby ‘Best Not Miss’

Cromby will release a new EP, ‘House Flava’, next week on Big Saldo’s Chunkers. Have an exclusive first listen to ‘Best Not Miss’ below.

Since being nominated in the Breakthrough DJ category for DJ Mag’s Best Of British Awards in 2020, Belfast-born, Berlin-based Cromby has been raising the bar year on year with releases for Phantasy Sound, Rekids, Craigie Knowes and more. Now, the Potency label boss is set to debut on Big Saldo’s Chunkers – run by close pal and fellow Irish trailblazer Sally C – with four rugged house rollers, enriched with the euphoric energy of his recent closing sets at Panorama Bar.

Released earlier this summer, lead single ‘House Flava’ set the scene with its hooky vocal and buoyant, acid-washed grooves, earning plaudits from the likes of Job Jobse and Bambounou along the way. Elsewhere on the EP, Cromby makes his vocal debut on the bass-boosted ‘Free’ alongside some devilish 303 flourishes, and ‘Pump It’ ups the ante (and the BPM) for a flirty, proggy club weapon. ‘Best Not Miss’ rounds out the set in a haze of hoover synths, spiralling sirens and 90s-tinged tech grooves, destined to send dancefloors into a spin cycle.

“This has been a long time coming,” Sally – who describes Cromby as her “musical soulmate” – shared of the project. “Despite our close friendship, I genuinely see Cromby as one of the most talented artists in the game. If you’ve been to any extended set of his, you’ll get it. A true and genuine craftsman. I’m honoured to finally have the chance to release his music. This EP is nothing short of Cromby Excellence and fits on the label like a glove.”

“A full circle moment, I couldn’t be happier to share these Chunkers with the world via my besties excellent label!”, Cromby added.

‘House Flava’ is out 1st August on Big Saldo’s Chunkers. Pre-save the digital EP/pre-order on vinyl here, and have an exclusive first listen to ‘Best Not Miss’ below.
