9-year-old DJ Archie becomes youngest DJ to perform at Tomorrowland: Watch

DJ Archie has become the youngest DJ to perform at this year’s Tomorrowland at just 9 years old.

The UK artist played the opening set on the Atmosphere stage ahead of Dimension, Lens, VTSS and more, spinning drum & bass classics like M-Beat and General Levy’s ‘Incredible’ and the Shy FX remix of ‘Chopper’ by The Terrorist (AKA Ray Keith).

According to EDM.com, Dubai’s DJ Michelle became the youngest DJ ever to play the festival when she performed last year aged 11, making 9-year-old Archie the new record holder.

Archie was officially recognised as the youngest DJ in the world by Guinness World Records in 2018 when he was just four years and 130 days old.

In a backstage interview with DJ Mag, DJ Archie said he was “shocked” when he first found out he’d be playing this year’s Tomorrowland.

“When I controlled the crowd, they were all dancing,” he said of the success of his set.

Archie went on to explain his path into DJing. “My dad was a DJ and one day I turned on his equipment when he was out of the room and I was mixing and it was all in time,” he said.

DJ Mag is reporting live from Tomorrowland all weekend to celebrate 20 years of the World’s No. 1 festival. Follow #DJMagTomorrowland on Instagram for backstage interviews, photos and more.
