Tomu DJ announces new album, ‘I Want To Be’, shares single: Listen

Tomu DJ has announced a new album and shared the first single.

Out on 31st August, ‘I Want To Be’ reflects on five years split between New York and the Californian producer’s native Bay Area.

The LP invites listeners “to consider the broad spectrum of contradictory impulses that stitch together who we are and how we live. To see the fullness of human emotion neither as liability nor strength, but as simple fact, as natural and implacable as the weather,” reads the press release blurb.

Out today (28th June), check out lead single ‘The Truth’ via Bandcamp below.

Last August, Tomu dropped an EP of remixes of her ‘Bedroom DJ’ single, reworked by the likes of BIG J, RITCHRD, Farsight, L1NH and more. The single marked her first new track since her critically acclaimed 2022 album ‘Half Moon Bay‘.

‘Half Moon Bay’ followed the 2021 release of Tomu DJ’s debut album, ‘FEMINISTA’.
