LP Giobbi shares two new singles, ‘If Love Is A Skill Feat. Sofi Tukker’ and ‘Georgia’: Listen
LP Giobbi has dropped two new singles from her upcoming debut LP.
Ahead of playing DJ Mag’s Miami Music Week pool party at Sagamore South Beach today (22nd March), the LA-based producer, DJ, pianist, and activist has released ‘If Love Is A Skill’ and ‘Georgia’.
The former single is a collaboration with indie-pop duo Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern, aka SOFI TUKKER, and features a new studio performance video. Watch it, and stream ‘Georgia’, below.
Speaking about working with Hawley-Weld on ‘If Love Is A Skill,’ Giobbi said: “Watching Sophie work is a whole other experience. The music comes THROUGH her and she is so grounded and ready to catch it and be its conduit that it flows with such raw intensity catapulting through her.”
Hawley-Weld added: “Working with LP is always effortless and random. She is our best friend and music is the by-product of our friendship. We are honored to be a part of this song and her album. Her career blossoming is one of the most fulfilling things we’ve gotten to be a part of in our lives. If love is a skill, we are grateful to get to practice it with LP.”
The singles come a month on from Giobbi announcing her highly-anticipated debut album, ‘Light Places’. Set for release via Ninja Tune imprint Counter Records on 12th May, the album was largely produced mid-flight at high altitude on tour and features collaborations with Caroline Byrne, DJ Tennis, Joseph Ashworth, Monogem and more.

News of the long-player comes at the end of a huge 12 months for the producer, DJ, pianist, and activist. In 2022, she was nominated for Breakthrough Producer at the DJ Mag Best of North America Awards, and finished the year playing to a packed crowd at London’s O2 Arena alongside dance luminary Pete Tong. Meanwhile, this year’s eight-part mini-album of reworked tunes, ‘Garcia (Remixed)’, has only served to further bolster demand for her work.
