Pioneer DJ has added a new feature that analyses tracks and detects where vocals are on the waveform. Pioneer DJ says “This is possible thanks to AI technology with deep-learning capabilities embedded in the software’s new music analysis algorithm, which we co-developed with Japanese tech company Qosmo.” 

Avoiding vocal clashes is a key aspect of mixing for the vast majority of DJs so this new technology adds another way in which analysis and waveform displays are helping DJs. The feature is only available for those with Creative Plans, rekordbox’s new subscription tier, which costs £9.99 a month if you take advantage of an introductory offer running until the end of July. After that, it costs £14.99 per month. 

Version 6.0.1 also adds support for Beatsource LINK, Beatport and DJcity’s open-format DJ streaming service. The Performance aspect of rekordbox DJ now also features Beatport LINK’s curated playlists and charts. You can also now set playlists to Auto-upload to the cloud.
